I’m rather converted to violas – am embarrassed to think I’d been so snobby about them. They seem to attract bees and are really pretty.
I have another patch where I pulled out all the poached egg plants that were mixed in with the violas – they were getting incredibly leggy and were well past their best. The problem is, this has left the violas in that spot looking a bit shonky; they’d got leggy to compete with the poached egg plants and now don’t have a buddy to lean on.
So, should I:
- leave them alone and assume that they will start looking good soon; or
- prune them back so that the plants come back less leggy?
