Modern American Steak House

On Friday, my husband and I went out for dinner at a place called MASH, which is in Brewer Street.  It’s absolutely massive – it used to be a theatre but the place has been restored (expensively).

The food was terrific (if rather expensive) but the actual restaurant could have done with being about a third the size – even though it was gorgeous, a space that big does feel rather like a canteen.  It was reasonably full but not completely, which I find a bit strange in a smart London restaurant on a Friday night (unless they have a policy of not turning the tables – and I can’t believe that they would have that policy).

The steak was perfect and it left us full enough to not need any pudding.
