Yesterday, I went down to Brighton (where I grew up) to meet up with my parents, brother and sister in law for lunch at the Gingerman. My brother and I are spending Christmas with our in-laws, you see, so this was our family Christmas lunch.
This is a nice place – quite well known in Brighton but I’d never been. I had mackerel to start, pheasant and then souffle. The wine was most delicious (I had a glass of pinot gris then a glass of something red and Italian).
Apparently the guy who made the brownies at my brother’s wedding used to work for the Gingerman. I was very impressed with those brownies.
