My garden in December

I’ll stop bleating on about my garden soon.  I took a few photos yesterday and am now going to subject you to them.

I think I'll have to replace this thyme

Cotton lavender - I first saw this at Carisbrooke castle and thought it was gorgeous. It needs a LOT of light and not too much water. Apart from that, it's really hardy.

  1. Don’t throw out that Thyme just yet… See if it shoots from the ground in spring first. I have had a few plants come back this spring that I had given up on!

And that Cotton Lavender…. Does it have the lavender smell?

    1. Okay, I will hold off on brutally disposing of the thyme. Thanks for the tip.

Cotton lavender has a very distinctive scent but I wouldn’t say that it is like lavender – there’s something reminiscent of tobacco there but that isn’t it precisely. I haven’t given it a hard prune yet as it seems to keep quite a nice “mound” shape on its own. Plus it seems to be good at fighting off weeds. Which is good.
