Getting rid of the baby stuff

Yesterday, my son’s new bed arrived.  Until now, he’s been in a large Australian cotbed but now he really has filled it and he NEEDS a proper single bed.  Having said that, the cotbed was super (my daughter has one almost identical) and lasted until he was well over four (we took the side off).

The trick with getting children to be pleased at having a new bed is to make their room (with the new bed) as inviting as possible.  Frankly, this meant having a giant clean out, which took all bloody morning.  Quite a few things have gone in the loft and others have gone in boxes at the top of the wardrobe.

Some other things have gone to my local charity shop. Save the Children are quite nifty, they give you a card and whenever you donate, you give them your card details.  Then, every few months, they send you an email to tell you how much the stuff you’ve given them has raised.

I got the bed, the duvet and pillow, the duvet cover etc from John Lewis (which is where I buy pretty much all furniture).  I rather regret not buying him the one with the moon and planets on (I must have missed that one or maybe it wasn’t available when I bought it).
