Richmond

Yesterday, we went to Richmond for lunch, and to have a wander round, before meeting the kids off the train.  Richmond is a nice place, very close to Kew but a little busier.  We went to Jamie’s Italian for lunch (in my case, brunch).  It was a nice lunch – enough to leave us satisfied but not uncomfortably full.

It was raining when I was there, which makes any high street look rather drab but the bit by the river looked superb.

I did see a few other things – one was a church called the “First Church of Christ Scientist Richmond” (a form of Christianity I’d never heard of) – the building was pretty.

Another was a Whole Foods, which I understand is all over the place in the US but is quite rare in the UK (although growing).  There isn’t one in Islington yet – I have to get the bus to Piccadilly or to Camden if I want to visit one.

After we met the kids, we drove along the M3 to the IoW.  In the rain.
