E says there aren’t really any supermarkets in Barcelona so she does her food shopping every other day at the markets. The market we went to was the Boqueria. I know that you’ve seen markets before but this one was particularly nice.
I am very impressed with E’s Spanish. Now she says that actually it isn’t very good and I am only impressed because I can only say please and thank you in Spanish (true – although I can also say hello and goodbye). All the same, I am determined to be impressed.

After the market, we went and sat on La Rambla and drank two and a half bottles of white wine. It was extremely delicious and something we almost never do these days. When we got home, E cooked the sole she’d bought (most impressive considering how plastered we both were). We then went out to have a look at the magic fountain at night but it wasn’t on – E thought that perhaps it had been switched off because of Paris.
