Running in the autumn

This morning I went for a run.  It wasn’t raining but was damp.  Quite a few of the leaves have fallen so it was very pretty, if really quite slippery.  Perhaps the treads on my trainers have gone.

One thing I do notice when I run is how many people stop to smile at me.  Honestly, I think it is because I am a fat woman and you don’t see many running.  I did once have a bunch of builders in a white van shout “Keep it up girl! Keep going!” which I didn’t like so much – I started wearing sunglasses whenever I run after that so I don’t have to make eye contact with people.

When I run, I like to wear something bright on top so that cars can spot me (I cross a few roads on my run in London) – you know that I am very keen on runners and cyclists being visible.  Today, I wore my black running capris and a lime green long sleeved running top (sounds vile but actually quite nice – and people can see me).
