Weeding

This afternoon, I did some weeding.  This is the sort of job that you look at and say, “Oh yeah, no way will that take me more than five or ten minutes” and then it takes the whole hour.

There’s loads of compost in this bed so the weeding didn’t take me as long as it would have otherwise; it’s rather satisfying, pulling up a weed and having the whole thing come up, roots and everything.

After weeding - I know I didn't get all the weeds, I lost enthusiasm after a while

This bed is a bit sparse.  Over the summer it had Love in the Mist and Poached Egg plants but I’m trying something new – violas round the edge and lavender, bugle and nepeta in the middle.  I rather hope they all grow a bit soon so I don’t have to do so much weeding.  I should really cut back the lavender but while they are flowering so well I can’t bring myself to do it.
