Usborne Spotter’s Guides

This summer, my sister in law introduced me to Usborne Spotter’s Guides.  These appeal to me a lot – in a geeky, list ticking off way – so I bought a few (I ordered them on Amazon).

Basically, you go through and tick off the stuff you’ve seen (although you won’t have seen everything as certain wild flowers, for example, will only grow in certain places).

You can't tick off dinosaurs - but it is still a nice book

I imagine that I will wander around meadows and beaches with my children, merrily ticking off all sorts of things and having a jolly, educational time.  However, there is no way my children would have the patience for this – maybe in a few years?
