Rain gear for kids

Today I have a cold.  However, the kids both had a lie in so we didn’t come downstairs until nearly 9am.  This never happens.

When we got downstairs, I realised that we only had a bit of milk left.  Unfortunately, this does happen quite often, despite us buying GALLONS of the stuff every week.  Perhaps I have my coffees too milky.  This was not an enormous problem though as, after  breakfast, we got to walk along to the petrol station to buy some more.

Now, the petrol station is a magical place, always brightly lit AND it has doors that open and close all by themselves.  Seriously, this almost counts as an activity.  The trick to harmonious milk buying is to give both kids a bottle;e of the stuff to put on the counter.  This stops squabbles and, lets face it, we drink it ALL anyway.

Although it wasn’t raining when we went out, I made the kids put their rain coats on anyway because it is meant to rain ALL day today AND tomorrow.  And considering they were in their pyjamas, it would be a bit of an arse if it started pouring while we were out.  Some things just plain don’t get you good parent points.

This is from Muddy Puddles. This is great for summer, you can bundle it up really small.

I bought this about three years ago from Next. I love the bright colour and it fits my daughter really well.

This is from Muddle Puddles (called the Puddleflex jacket I think). REALLY waterproof plus the bright colour means my son is easy to spot.

This is from Landsend. It is meant to fold up into a pocket and is much more lightweight than the Puddleflex jacket. We haven't tested it in the rain yet.

I KNOW no one wants to pull waterproof trousers on over their clothes but if you HAVE to walk somewhere in the rain then these are very useful. They are from Muddy Puddles.

I haven’t bothered putting up photos of wellies and crocs.  You know what these are and presumably know where to buy them (I buy mine on Amazon).

Anyway, Muddy Puddles is a very good online shop for this sort of thing.
