Dollhouses and Chinatown

Today is my daughter’s birthday.  We got her this dollhouse.

This is from John Lewis.

It even comes with a John Lewis fridge and a dollhouse to go in the kids' room in the dollhouse. So cute.

It opens from both sides and was (relatively) reasonable.  We also looked at Sylvanian families but the accessories were so expensive, I could imagine myself getting ratty if they ever got lost.  It’s a funny thing, buying dollhouses.   You can basically go as flashy as you want (which we didn’t).  This website is worth a nose at, if you are interested in that sort of thing.

For lunch we went to Chinatown for dim sum with my sister in law and her friend.  Beforehand we went to Leicester Square (they now have FOUNTAINS) and the kids ran around.

Fountains! These are new and good fun. Remember to bring a change of clothes (which I didn't).

We were there at midday when the bells started going off.

Chinatown.
Chinatown.

I did make the mistake of giving my daughter 50p to give a busker playing a steel drum – except he wasn’t a busker, just a dude who likes to play in the middle of Leicester Square.  Hey ho.
